Public Presentation of the Georgian Coalition for Education For All

On July 4 at the Centre of Training and Consultancy a public presentation of the Georgian Coalition for Education For All was held. At the event were presented experts working in education sector, representatives of local and international NGOs and Ministry of Education and Science.
Mrs. Irina Khantadze, Executive Director of the coalition member organization Centre of Training and Consultancy welcomed presented audience and opened the event.
Chairman of the board of the coalition Mr. Giorgi Machabeli shared with participated guests coalition's current activities and future plans. Expert of the International Institute of Education Policy Planning and Management Mr. Revaz Apkhazava presented a short report on monitoring of physical infrastructure in 22 public schools engaged in state inclusive education program conducted by the coalition member organization Accessible Environment for Everyone. Based on monitoring results' recommendations the Agency of Professional and Inclusive Education Development of MES initiated to form a working group to develop education environment standard. The coalition project manager Mr. Beka Urushadze spoke about EFA goals, introduced to participants programme's governing global body and its structure.
The Deputy Minister of MES Mrs. Lia Gigauri in her speech emphasized the importance of formation of such coalitions, because often non government organizations funded by donors act without coordination with each other and results are much less, than it could have been in coordinated action.
Final phase of the presentation was committed to questions and answers. After that event continued in an informal atmosphere.
