On October 17 at the Centre for Training and Consultancy members of civil organizations comprising the Georgian coalition for Education For All met with the deputy minister of MES Mrs. Lia Gigauri. A memorandum of cooperation signed by the coalition and MES in the summer of 2014 implies conduction of regular discussion meetings between parties on priority issues of general education.
On the meeting held on October 17 parties discussed a new scheme of "Beginning of teaching practice, professional development and carrier growth", parliamentary hearing of which is taking place in these days.
Discussion participants also reviewed a coming conference, planned by the coalition, where it will present the coalition position paper and recommendations on development of teachers professional associations and enhancement of school board of trustees institution. Mrs. Lia Gigauri underlined a necessity of professional associations development, spoke about associations vital role in performance evaluation and defining teachers needs in regards of professional development.
Parties agreed on importance of elaborating state policy, which supports professional associations formation and sustainable development, because strong professional associations is one of the major conditions to improve general education quality.
