Focus groups study

The coalition member organization - Association School, Family, Society has conducted a focus groups study under the project to elaborate recommendations on school based teachers professional development and development of teachers professional associations.
Altogether 18 focus group discussions held in 8 regions of Georgia were participated by 81 school principals and 99 teachers, representatives of non Georgian schools among them. Focus groups in each region were divided into two groups - teachers and principals completed the survey separately (8-9 participant in each group). After studied and analysed the discussion records the organization completed a desk study where reviewed the experience of several countries (Baltic states, Romania) in regards of state policy supporting teachers professional development and development of teachers professional associations.
Based of conducted desk study and focus groups results Association School, Family, Society prepared a report reflecting recommendations on the subject.
This recommendations are integrated in the coalition position paper which will be presented to a wide audience during the coalition organized conference on November 13, 2014.
